The ribbontail worm just doesn't catch the attention of many elite anglers these days, or so it seems. Most tournament anglers want to cover water and power fish and most folks don't want to take time to fish thoroughly. Now if you slow down, you'll watch these worms work for you...
These are my go-to worms come late spring and until the early fall. As an avid touring kayak fisherman I've learned to go low and slow over the 13 years I've been at this game. On a pegged texas rig with a 5/O worm hook or a carolina rig these flat out catch fish. My PB Southern Illinois fish came off one of these, a 6lb fat mama caught in the heat of the summer dragging a texas rig along grass edges. Can't describe it but I've watched these work when the fish just seem unresponsive to other lures. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.
