I absolutely love this bait! Texas rigged weightless or weighted with a wide gap #4 offset it is just plain deadly on the bass.
Over the past two weeks I have been piercing the lips on a bunch of solid bass here in Texas.
I've been averaging 15-20 bass per trip.
The versatility of the burner craw is it's greatest asset IMO. It excels in cover whether being cast into weed beds, lily pads or brush. The majority of my fish have come from pitching and flipping the bait into the thickest cover.
I find that fishing the craw "Texas Rigged" but un-weighted is the ticket for a nice slower drop.
Frankly there isn't alot of finesse involved here! Just a solid thunk and then it's "eye crossing" time!

Abu-Garcia Villain 7'3" MH Lew's Tournament Pro 7.1 ratio Suffix 832 @ 40lb w Sunline Fluoro @ 30lb
All rigged with Gambler Burner Craws or 4" Flappin Shads ...... Both have been deadly!
